I can't believe that it has been over two years since I posted on this thing last.
I don't work for the government any more. I am in private practice with my wife at Henry and Henry.
Our office is in Dr. Ragsdale's building at 524 North Locust in Denton. We are Suite J.
I should start attending the blog again.

Do you want diesel with that hot dog?
- The sign guys at the Exxon at Teasley and I-35E in Denton never cease to amaze. Do you think they really see the humor in this?

- Also, got home this evening, and I was watching the UConn/Kentucky final four game only to see something hopping along on the floor of my second floor landing. I see it go into my bathroom, and it's a little bird. How in the world did it get in the house. Luckily, we were able to catch it without hurting it or me, and I was able to let it out safely. Too much excitement after a long drive. Maybe a diesel hot dog would help.

Blast from the Past...
Most of you know, or may not know, or actually may not even care that I grew up in Oklahoma City. We did not come to Texas until I was 16 years old.
Every so often a tune comes into my head from when I was a kid, and 40 years later I can remember every word of the B.C. Clark Jewelers Anniversary Sale Jingle.
Why? I really don't know except that there probably was not a single Christmas season since I was very, very young that this song did not play on the television many times a day.
That was back in the time when there were only 3 real TV channels in OK City: 4 was NBC, 5 was ABC, and 9 was CBS. 13 (PBS) was nearly always there, but we didn't watch it that much.
So, this tune is running endlessly through my brain this evening which gives me the thought to google BC Clark Jewelers in OKC. It comes up on Wikipedia as being known for the famous jingle that was written for them in 1956. Since I am brought into the world in September 1957, I hear this song every year almost from the day I am born.

A 21 year old American student is, for some reason, protesting the Israeli use of force against an Islamic flotilla that was aggressively vying for a confrontation with the Israeli government.
The Obama administration is making a huge mistake siding against Israel.
I don't think that Israel has as high a tolerance of hippies as the United States.

And did you know...
That Obama has sent Holder (Eric Holder, US Attorney General) to start collecting information for civil suits and criminal prosecutions against BP?
That may be necessary later, but perhaps it would be best if he (Obama) just got out of the way and let this leak get plugged before they start hauling people into federal court and in front of Congress. Statutes of Limitations are long, and there will be plenty of time to play the blame game. It seems to me that getting this thing stopped should be the priority for BP and the Obama Regime.

As most of you know, I am not a big Al Gore fan, but I hate to see people throw away 40 years of marriage, especially after what they have been through together. You would think that, after some amount of time, you could feel secure in that relationship. I guess I don't get it. He is 62 and she is 61. Perhaps these days, that is young enough to start over again.

That official Whitehouse physicist Stephen Chu ordered the topkill stopped on the bleeding oil well in the gulf. Suddenly, he became fearful that the pressure from the heavy mud might cause another problem somewhere else.

I get this from CNN, and no, I don't watch CNN. I stumbled across this on the internet.

Those Clintons are at it again...
I always get a kick out of the involvement of that former President Clinton and the current Secretary of State, his erstwhile wife.
First of all, Bill is taking that fall for Obama on the Sestak bribery scandal from the Whitehouse. They are saying that Bill Clinton offered Sestak an unpaid position on a Presidential advisory council if he would not run in the primary.
HUH?
What kind of a bribe is that? Why in the world would they think that a guy would pass up a solid chance at a Senate seat for an unpaid position on some presidential council? Talk about backtracking to cover your tracks. And of course, Slick Willy is more than happy to cover for the Obama Whitehouse since his wife's job is on the line.
Then we have Mrs. Clinton, your Secretary of State holding the Brazilian system of taxation up as an example of how we should be. What was her statement? Oh yeah, "the rich are not paying enough in taxes." (I guess like they do in Brazil.)
Hillary, taxes are monies that are actually paid to the federal government, just in case you weren't clear on that. How much money have you hidden in your foundations? Let's see, there is $10 million in the Bill Clinton Memorial Library and Massage Parlor. That's $10 million tax dollars that you deprived your government of. That's $10 million they are going to have to get from somewhere else. But wait, there's more: Hillary had a secret foundation that they had stashed $5 million in prior to 2008. She decided that she probably should disclose that foundation during her run for the presidency in 2008. By the way, aren't those foundations supposed to pay money to support the purpose of the foundation? I hear that Hillary's foundation paid nothing last year in gifts or endowments or whatever you call contributions from a "foundation".
And finally, leading up to the person who holds the leashes of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Obama has accused BP of not being transparent in disclosing all of the ramifications of their efforts to stop the oil leak. Nice, since the Obama administration is about as transparent as a block of granite when wielding their strongarm Chicago political tactics, such as offering jobs to Congressmen who indicate a desire to unseat an incumbent liberal democrat Senator.

Need a new health magazine to subscribe to...
I guess I'm done with MensHealth Magazine. I'm not going to cancel my subscription, but when this runs out I won't be renewing. I have subscribed to that magazine for over 10 years now, but in the last few months it has become a liberal propaganda rag for Obama policies.
They have written articles in favor of government controlled health care in this country and turned their back on the possibility of removing state roadblocks to more interstate competition among health insurers. Last month, I read a long article touting the virtues on the French health care system.
But this month, in the editors preface page, he is positively giddy over the fact that he proposed a tax on sugary sweet foods under the guise of helping America regulate their diets.
Have so many Americans lost their minds that they want the government trampling on our freedoms to make choices...any choices?
Why not pass legislation banning sugar and high fructose corn syrup in manufactured foods?
Are we going to have the kitchen police now? Are they going to march four abreast into your kitchen to check your cannisters and cupboards for sugar or syrup?
Where does this madness stop?
Have Americans gotten so simple and dull witted that we need our government in Washington legislating what we eat?
And what about the impact to the sugar industry and the corn growers? Is Obama willing to add even more people to his unemployment casualty roll in favor of more regulation and tax?

Second Day as a Defense Attorney
I am learning about making jail visits. (It's amazing that in 27 years as a prosecutor, I don't have alot of experience visiting people in jail. Well, maybe no so amazing.)
I got my first court appointment today (and that's all I'm saying about that).
I am enjoying the new work and the new point of view, but mostly I am enjoying the time I have with Cindy.

Gulf Oil Spill Crisis
Okay, boys and girls:
Is there anyone besides me who sees the explosion of the BP oil rig in the Gulf as the result of a plot by environmental extremists?
It's unbelievable the way those people have used this as a cry to essentially stop oil production in the United States. Even Arnold Schwartzenager has reversed his stance on offshore drilling and now he is totally against it.
Has anyone heard what the cause of the explosion was? I haven't heard a word about the cause. Apparently, it was all very mysterious.
And I would not put it past those environmentalists to pull a stunt like this. Look at the way they are celebrating a disaster that killed 11 people. I have never seen a group that loves an accident or a disaster more than the environmental extremists.

New office update
I picked up my busiess cards and several items of office furniture today. I ordered my desk and it will be here soon.
Topless in Maine...Why?
I stumbled across this video of women marching topless in Maine. Apparently they are protesting that men get to walk about without shirts, so they should, too. The report makes it clear that it is perfectly legal for women to go out in public with their breasts uncovered, but the protesters want it to be "socially acceptable" as well.
How does protesting make that happen. As near as I can tell, the men of Maine are all for making it socially acceptable as they were taking numerous photos of the topless women. It was the women who most opposed the topless women. "Nobody wants to see that" (or something to that effect) was said by one women.
How do you protest something that is already legal? How does protesting make something socially acceptable? Is their protest going to do away with 2000 years of socially programmed mores all of a sudden?
What gets into some people, really? Do they just not have enough to do in Maine? I hear they have some biting flies in the Maine summer that can make you pretty miserable. If so, wouldn't you want to cover up as much as possible?
