Good Question

A little girl was next door visiting with the neighbor lady, and as they talked over milk and cookies, the woman asked the child, "What would you like to do when you grow up?"
The child responded, "I would like a job that lets me help homeless people."
"How nice," the lady said.
The child said, "There is a homeless man there, I wish I could help him."
The lady replied, "Well, how about this: if you mow my lawn and wash my car, I will give you $50 and you can go and give it to the homeless man."
The little girl stopped eating, blinked a couple of times, and then thoughtfully said, "Why don't I bring him here and he can mow the lawn and wash the car, and then you can give him the $50?"

Welcome to the Republican Party, little girl.

No, welcome to the Democratic Party. She actually CARED about someone less fortunate and took action to help.

If she had been a Republican she would have turned up her nose at the less fortunate and continued to walk on.

You are insane. Republicans care as you can see by Bush's boondoggle bailout stimulous plan that the obamination is taking to a new level of ridiculous. Republicans care, we are just not stupid about it like democrats are.

You evidently do not understand what has caused the crisis we are in. It wasn't even Bush and his outlandish spending on a fruitless war. It was the faux financial instruments created after Phil Gramm from your great state got rid of every bit of regulation. So, the folks who are going to be rich (probably bin Laden) beyond belief will get that way when both the housing and automobile industries die. Yes, my friend that is the kind of capitalism we have now. Betting on the failures of industries, people, and large corporations. I wouldn't be surprised if bin Laden isn't one of the people who has taken advantage of some of these instruments. However, I don't really think he's that smart. But in about ten years when ALL of the details come out. Mark my words, we'll then see who got rich, the people who are feeding the media the incorrect information such as that GM and Ford cannot make cars fast enough to sell overseas. Is that what we hear? No. So, my friend, capitalism cannot "correct" itself like your friend Gramm thinks. It does not take care of itself or correct itself. Capitalism can only work when it is within fair framework and regulations are in place and people who break them are prosecuted. THere needs to be restrictions that do not allow these credit default type of creations. Salute.

Bless you that little propagandistic stories can inform your politics.
