This is Gort from the original version of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (1951) starring Michael Rennie and Patricia Neal. The remake with Keanu starts on Friday. The original of this is a fantastic movie even by today's standards. I watch it every time it appears on any classic movie station. For this remake to be worth the trouble of making and going to see, it better be terrific (but I suspect it will be). I intend to see it.
